Seems the more I read about the strike, the more boggled my head becomes! - for instance
http://www.moonlightline.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=2353&p=61451#p61451 I'm giving this up for the night before I get a headache! |

Sounds like the members of The Directors Guild got what they wanted from the major studio's, but they are held more highly then the "Blue Collar" writers...you have Steven Spielberg then you have the 3rd writer for How I Meet your Mother. The only way this is going to be over is if the The Writers Guild gives in on key points like DVD and Internet sales. It also sounds like the negotiators for the directors know how to wine and dine the studio executives, most probably go to the same parties. The writers are being much more militant in the tactics...obviously is not going over to well with the elite's of Hollywood. One artyicle I read ended with... Bottom line: the writers strike continues with not only no end in sight, the two sides need discussions to decide whether they should even have discussions. |

Wow Joey, doesn't sound good at all. You know I think that the writers have always gotten treated pretty badly out in Hollywood. And without them, there wouldn't be much of an industry. I know that some famous writers have gone out there to work and hated it. F. Scott Fitzgerald comes to mind.
Watched the new episode of Moonlight. Not quite sure how I liked this one. All I can say is that the creators and writers don't want the viewers to get too comfortable. Every episode I have seen is chock full of new revelations and story line twists. It makes you want to watch again just to see where it will all go. The French Revolution was partly to kill vampires! The guillotine was to kill vampires and there was a family of vampires that were created by Louis XVI. I must say, at the very least, someone has incredible imagination. Now we find that Nick is now part of this family because of his exwife. Interesting. |
